A: Johnson and Curtis law firm, can I have your name please?


B: Yes, my name is Chris Thompson


A: Hello Mr. Thompson, what can I help you with today?


B: I would like to see a lawyer to discuss my immigration
status. I would also like to apply for my citizenship.


A: Could you tell me how long you have been in this country?


B: I have been here for five years.

A: I think that we can help you with that.

B: Great, how much would it cost for a one hour
appointment.

B: I am a resident.


A: O.k. I am now going to ask you some questions to see what
you know. Do you know how long someone needs to be a
permanent resident until he or she can become a citizen?


B: 3- 5 years. I believe it will take 5 years for me because
I am not married to a citizen.

B: Well, I can't vote, but I can get a driver's licence.


A: That is correct, now tell me, what is one right a citizen has.


B: A citizen can vote, and also can get a passport.


A: That is also correct, one final question, can you tell me one
right that is on the bill of rights.


B: I know a few of the rights on the bill of rights, there's
speech, religion, and freedom of the press.


A: Good, now, can you tell me who can help you with immigration
problems, besides myself?


B: ACLU, a lawyer's office, legal aid society, or Catholic
Charities...


A: How could you find the phone number of those agencies?


B: I could use the yellow pages, websites, or information
